Sugar generally does run on other laptops which today are used in many projects implementing educational technologies. However in order to ensure that it actually runs well and is reliably usable by pupils and teachers, customizations and modifications are often needed. These mostly concern aspects such as support for specific device drivers, anti-theft systems, and accommodation for different display resolutions.
